Dems Pass Cap and Trade Bill

Get ready to pay MORE.
For EVERYTHING.

The liberal lefts are doing their best to economically bring this country to its knees. I don't know if any of you actually read this bill, but the price of EVERYTHING just went up.
More jobs will be lost as people now will have less money to spend. On ANYthing.
By raising taxes on domestic companies whose production process 'emits harmful gases' or 'uses fossil fuels', these politicians are crippling the economy by forcing these companies to scale back not only on production (diminishing availability of products thereby theoretically driving up demand thereby justifying price increases to offset loss), but also on man-power necessary for production. (This means MORE people in this country will lose their jobs.) I'm not an economist, but even I can see failed logic.
By forcing ethynol production, they thrust this 'green initiative' industry into the mainstream, touting 'cleaner burning' and 'fuel efficiency' both as benefits. Oddly enough, it actually costs MORE to refine these oils into a useable form of energy, and causes the price of corn to go way up. Humans eat corn. Cows eat corn. Corn food products are EVERYWHERE.
Follow closely: If corn growth is allotted to fuel production, demand will go up. Farmers who now produce OTHER vegetables will now grow corn instead. These other vegetables, now more scarce, will also become more expensive. Corn normally used as food products for both man and livestock will become more expensive.

Before you say I'm wrong, let's look at EVERYWHERE ELSE. China. Russia. South America. Japan. India. Pakistan. Any other country with manufacturing facilities. These folks aren't hampered by the environmental or labor restrictions to which companies in OUR country are forced to abide. They belch pollution (un-checked) and practically utilize 'slave labor', both by employing children and paying pennies a day. They forego our trade agreements by illegally flooding our markets with inferior and sometimes dangerous products. They don't have to deal with labor unions or provide any benefits.

All the while, they and the liberal left media are crying 'foul' and making The United States of America the 'bad guy'. The media doesn't hesitate to report anything negative about America
and condemn Americans, and will always paint us in a bad light. It's sickening.

To quote obama: “My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you’ll join with me as we try to change it.”
The above was taken directly from his Inauguration Speech.

I could go on (and probably will later), but I'm so disgusted I can't see straight.

Cost of Hiring Illegal Immigrants (Aliens)

This was sent to me by Michael Arata, a fellow Conservative Republican.

Here is an example of why hiring illegal aliens is not economically productive for the United States of America, or fair to LEGAL CITIZENS & TAXPAYERS.

You have 2 families..."Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal".
Both families have 2 parents, 2 children and live in California .
"Joe Legal" works in construction, has a Social Security Number, and makes $25.00 per hour with payroll taxes deducted...
"Jose Illegal" also works in construction, has "NO" Social Security Number, and gets paid $15.00 cash "under the table".
Joe Legal...$25.00 per hour x 40 hours $1000.00 per week, $52,000 per year Now take 30% away for state & federal tax
Joe Legal now has $31,231.00
Jose Illegal...$15.00 per hour x 40 hours $600.00 per week, $31,200.00 per year
Jose Illegal pays no taxes...
Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00
Joe Legal pays Medical and Dental Insurance with limited coverage $1000.00 per month $12,000.00 per year
Joe Legal now has $19,231.00
Jose Illegal has full Medical and Dental coverage through the state and local clinics
at a cost of $0.00 per year

Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00
Joe Legal makes too much money is not eligible for Food Stamps or welfare Joe Legal pays for food $1,000.00 per month $12,000.00 per year
Joe Legal now has $ 7,231.00
Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for Food Stamps and Welfare
Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00
Joe Legal pays rent of $1,000.00 per month $12,000.00 per year
Joe Legal is now in the hole minus (-) $4,769.00
Jose Illegal receives a $500 per month Federal rent subsidy Jose Illegal pays rent $500.00 per month $6,000.00 per year
Jose Illegal still has $25,200.00
Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.
Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.
Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same school. Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches while Jose Illegal's children get a government sponsored lunch.
Jose Illegal's children have an after school ESL program. Joe Legal's children go home.
Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same Police and Fire Services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay.

Don't vote or support ANY politician that supports illegal aliens... It's PAST time to take a stand for America and Americans!

RARE "Calvin & Hobbes" Cartoon

Here is a REAL rarity: An unauthorized Italian "Calvin & Hobbes" cartoon. I especially like the Spanish sub-titles covering the English sub-titles...!

Creator Bill Watterson NEVER allowed "Calvin & Hobbes" to be licensed, mass-merchandised, or animated. Foreign bootlegs are all that are available now.

Recovery & Miscellaneous Ramblings

Alright, I am growing weary of lying down or sitting still and rehabilitating my injured back. (Note to self: Don't over-do it!) After a month of this sedentary lifestyle, I am anxious to get moving. Not too much, since I am still very sore and now also weak from inactivity.

BAMA TWINS Update
Cole and Wade Ellis have been doing their thing, crawling and now toddling as they prepare for the upcoming University of Alabama Crimson Tide football season. Colton, shown below with dad Wendell last month, is sporting a mohawk and practicing his game face.
Wade, shown below with Uncle Brent, is working on his repertoire of faces and funny noises as he perfects 'The Pig Show', his on-going comedy routine.

That reminds me: Only 74 Days 'Til Kickoff...!

How Bama Should React

The NCAA handed down more 'penalties' to The University of Alabama. Click on the title of this post to see a commentary on College Football News about how they should respond.

Todd Palin Should Kick Letterman's Ass!

Okay. I consider myself an irreverant humorist. Many of the things that I find funny may be un-funny to others, offensive or tasteless to some, and unfathomable to most.
I understand the constitutional 'right' to freedom of speech, and how 'parody' and 'topical humor' are a comedian's bread and butter. I also understand the concept of admitting mistakes and/or the 'consequences of my actions'. Talk-show host David Letterman made a joke referring to former VP candidate Gov. Sarah Palin and her 14-yr-old daughter attending a Yankees game, and the joke involved the daughter engaging in sex with a Yankee player.
Letterman erroneously assumed that he was referring to the OLDER daughter, and when informed of the inaccuracy never apologized, but repeated the joke and went further by suggesting that everyone KNEW he meant the older daughter (Even though the elder daughter was never in attendance!). He was very condescending (in a girly, whiny Bill Maher way). He then invited Gov. Palin and her husband to come on the show. I think they should, and I think Todd Palin should punch the whiny, liberal Letterman in the face.
Admittedly, I thought Letterman was funny 25 years ago. Either I grew up, or sobered up. It's no wonder Jay Leno consistently beat him in the ratings. Letterman's low-brow, self-effacing persona only works when it's funny. On everything else, the liberal, leftist bullshit is only appealing to the liberal leftists.

Guess the Title!

Alright. Still home-bound, still bored. Here's one I came up with a LONG time ago, but never posted. Can you guess the title of the image below? (Hint #1:He is a twin! Hint #2: He's retired!)

That's right! It's retired New York Giants running back "Tiki Barber"...!

While I Wait..... (Medicated Inspiration)

Well, I am still on the disabled list and unable to walk normally, much less work. As the doctor told me "Not to lift anything heavier than a pencil", my activities are limited. Begin physical therapy on back & hip Monday.
While I wait for another Mardi Gras theme, I couldn't resist some silly cartoons and wordplay:

First, an homage to Povenmire & Marsh.....

...And a nod to Frank Miller....

Stop "Cap and Trade" Tax Scheme!

ALERT: There's a dangerous bill creeping through Congress right now... and it's being snuck through pretending to be a pro-environmental bill.

It's NOT. It's nothing more than a new TAX scheme to take OUR money and wreck the American economy!

This bill, H.R. 2454, "The American Clean Energy and Security Act," also known as the Waxman-Markey plan (or Cap-and-Trade/Cap-and-Tax), was recently passed out of the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee and we are urging all members of Congress to oppose consideration of this bill. This bill raises taxes on American families, increases the cost of energy, and eliminates American jobs. These are NOT proposals Americans can afford during the current economic crisis!

The Waxman-Markey bill will increase energy costs by $1,500 annually for the typical family of four. The Heritage Foundation estimates that even with the estimated 26 percent reduction in electricity use, electric bills will increase $754 with the Waxman-Markey plan. Additionally, from 2012 to 2035, a typical family will spend $12,200 more on its electric bill than in the absence of Waxman-Markey.

Despite the attempts in Waxman-Markey to decrease gas consumption by 15 percent, gas prices will still increase. As a result of the Waxman-Markey plan, an average American family of four will pay an additional $596 for gas usage in 2035. From 2012 to 2035, the Waxman-Markey plan will cost them an additional $7,500 in gas costs.

Before all the damage is done from Waxman-Markey, a family of four will see its direct energy costs rise by $22,800 from 2012 to 2035.

But wait -- there's more! The Waxman-Markey plan doesn't just raise taxes and increase energy costs -- it's expected to end 1,105,000 American jobs annually! The proposed Cap-and-Trade scheme will result in a loss of nearly 2,500,000 million American jobs. Now more than ever, America needs economic policies that lead to job creation, NOT job destruction.

This bill MUST be stopped, NOW!

TAKE ACTION: A recent poll indicated that 52 percent of registered American voters OPPOSE the cap-and-trade policy contained in the Waxman-Markey plan. Fifty-eight percent said they were unwilling to pay additional money for electricity to combat climate change. Sixty-eight percent disagreed with the notion that Congress should enact a "carbon tax" to encourage consumers to decrease their electricity usage. More than 50 percent opposed ANY carbon tax used to fund energy research. And 73 percent of respondents placed the economy FIRST among issue priorities.

PLEASE, send a FREE message right away, urging YOUR U.S. Representative to OPPOSE H.R. 2454, "The American Clean Energy and Security Act," also known as the Waxman-Markey plan (or Cap-and-Trade/Cap-and-Tax. Just copy & paste the link below in your browser:

WHEN Will I Return To Work....?

Still awaiting word from the doctor about when I will be cleared to return to work after injuring my back a few weeks ago. Still having minor pain & stiffness, but am functional.
Dr. Taylor says 'we're never really as well as we think we are' and tend to over-do it or try to rush back from an injury. Three weeks and counting.

Another Vols Violation....?

Well, it looks like poor Lane Kiffin has done it again. Go ahead, Kiffy-Baby. Give Spurrier some more material. I had sent this out to my Bama friends yesterday, but I am posting a link here for good measure.

Still Hurtin'.....

Well, it has been over a week, and this pain medication and bed-rest haven't done the trick. Now, I enjoy some Demerol & Loritab as much as the next guy, this is craziness.
I can't sit still long enough to get any drawing done. I can't lie in one position for very long. Walking is a painful chore, reminiscent of the classic 'Tim Conway' old man shtick from the old Carol Burnett Show.
I will have a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) done on Thursday to see if the doctors can pinpoint the problem.
