A Slightly Different Perspective

The very prolific and influential comic book artist JOE KUBERT died last weekend. He was 85.

Also a pretty thorough read HERE.

When I was a young kid, I didn't appreciate his work because I thought it too 'sketchy' and sloppy. "How can people think that's good...?", I thought aloud. Later, I marveled at his body of work and the strong composition in his drawings. He was a master storyteller and and darn good artist.

LONG Summer, Little Time....

I know it's been a while since I've posted, but I have been QUITE busy! (Day job, Mardi Gras, family issues, etc.)
I DID, however, make time to see "The Dark Knight Rises". I have mixed feelings about the movie. Some parts, I really liked. (Bane character, though rather physically smaller than I would have liked, was EXCELLENTLY portrayed!) I thought Catwoman was well-played, but just....'missing something'... I can't quite put my finger on.
Alfred was a weenie-whiney that I did not enjoy.
Less than a month 'til kickoff, though.

Miles From Home

Okay... so I fly out to Charlotte, NC for a series of classes/presentations for work. Started feeling sickly and nauseous just as we are being served a gourmet dinner at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Had to go back to the hotel, after having the shuttle driver ride around looking for a drugstore. Ended up at WalMart, where I bought a bunch of medicine and dosed-up.
Felt better and went to the morning sessions. Began to feel ill again, stomach cramps, the whole works.
Have been in hotel room all afternoon & evening. Blah.
