Will the influx of Democrats kill the proposed Mobile Maritime Museum? In an article in Tuesday's Mobile Press-Register, the Dems say they will wipe out Republican lawmakers' pet projects next month.
$20 million earmarked for the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration Disaster Response Center(!)that Mobile wants to house in the planned museum, along with an additional $3 million for exhibits and programs are in danger of 'going away' if the Democrats are successful in forwarding their own agenda.
What will this mean for riverfront security and fire safety...? Where will we house the newly-refurbished fire boat, a necessity for waterfront safety...?
Remember when Lyndon Johnson was elected in the 60's, and they closed the Brookley AirForce Base partly in retribution for non-support...?(Or so I was told....I wasn't born until 1964, so I'm not sure if this is entirely accurate....) How long did it take the region to recover economically from this...?
